Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn (born in America) is an American actor from America. Her most well-known role is her character Skyler White in the AMC show Breaking Bad for which she was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting actor in a Drama Series in 2013 and 2014. She performed the roles of Jean Ward and Martha Bullock, respectively, in The Practice. Anna Gunn grew up in Sante Fe New Mexico and discovered her love for acting when she was in the Preparatory School. At the end of the 70's, she and her family moved to Ohio. She was a theatre student in the theatre department at Northwestern University and spent a period in the British American Drama Academy. Anna started her acting career with Chicago-area theaters for a couple of years. She then moved on to film and television. Anna was cast as Arden on Down the Shore in the series of 29 episodes Down the Shore. Anna continued to be in film and TV series such as Seinfeld, NYPD Blue and others until late 1990's. Then she was cast in The Practice as Jean Ward. She was cast as Martha Bullock in Deadwood for two seasons throughout the decade of 2000. The show was recast as Skyler in Breaking Bad as Skyler, in the year 2008. Sully, the Deadwood film and other films were also starring her. Gunn played in David Schwimmer's Sex With Strangers, a production directed by David Schwimmer. Gunn also appeared in the audio drama podcast series of four parts called Numbered Days, which was launched in 2022. The love story that exists between Walter White and his wife Skyler is the most prominent element of the narrative in Breaking Bad with the strained connection between them and its eventual demise arguably mirroring the same arc of Walter White's last years of his life.
