Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka shankar is a British and American sitar player. She also sings. She was the youngest and first female to win a British House of Commons Shield she's had 9 Grammy Awards nominations and was the first musician of Indian of Indian descent to perform live in concert and be a presenter for the award ceremony. Anoushka Shakar, who is just a emerging superstar on the Indian Sitar is Anoushka. She is a student and daughter to Ravi Shankar. Born in London and grew up in New Delhi, she spent the first few years of her life traveling between London as well as New Delhi. When she arrived in New Delhi, she made her debut at just thirteen years old. She then moved to Encinitas CA, where she received her High School diploma with honors in 1999. Anouskha continues to have a bright performing and recording careers, despite being young. She frequently joins her father on stage, which she's been doing for a number of years. In 1998, she debuted Anourag as her first single album. In 2002, she debuted her Grammy award-winning album Live At Carnegie Hall. Since she's performed at many of the biggest stages around all over the globe, her career on stage has been expansive. Her career doesn't just comprise the world of music. In Delhi during his birthday celebrations for his 75th birthday she made her debut playing the sitar before the crowd of at the age of four, following her nine year old father. Anoushka was able to gain many valuable experiences when she accompanied her father on his world tour. It included performances at Carnegie Hall and at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festivals and making recordings alongside George Harrison. She was the youngest woman to receive the House of Commons Shield, awarded by British Parliament to recognize her musical talent and artistic ability in the Asian Arts.
